Tenants fewer house put out – Telegraaf.nl

The number of tenants in arrears last year again increased sharply. Judges also spoke often an eviction warrant. Still, housing associations last year put less tenants from their homes. According to figures that Aedes, the dome of the housing associations, Wednesday published

.

Arrears

Tenants had late last year a payment of 350 million euros. The number of cases in which the judge approved eviction, increased by 2 percent. That 23,500 sentences however are not all implemented.

Corporations try to find a solution for tenants in financial difficulty, such a payment. Thus, in seven out of ten cases of eviction still be prevented. The number of evictions has fallen to 5900. That is 15 percent less compared to 2013.

Control

The figures are based on a survey of 180 Aedes housing associations. Which locks with 58,000 tenants a payment plan to run in arrears. And to prevent the rapid rise of rent arrears, housing associations do a lot of prevention. They make home visits, call the tenants and referrals to social services.

Also close corporations covenants with municipalities, welfare and debt counseling. Thus, for tenants who can go bad with money, the social service are agreed that the city the rent is directly to the housing and the amount is deducted from the benefit.

Right

Despite all efforts to find a settlement, providing tenants in 7 percent of cases of a court ruling on the eviction key. In 4 percent of cases, the tenant leaves just like that, without consultation. In 2014 there were about 1,100 of these so-called ‘Northern Suns’ says Aedes.

The Tenants find it that good corporations have the number of evictions managed to reduce, but warns that the payment problems of tenants by the sharply rising rent it grow, “The underlying problem should be addressed priceless rent.”
