Some euro area countries have complained to the President of the European summit Donald Tusk about the additional crisis talks over Greece on the sidelines of a summit in Brussels. Especially Belgium finds that it is not enough involved in the emergency meeting.

The countries also believe that decisions on Greek aid belong to the euro group in which the finance ministers of the euro countries gather together.

Shut

The countries have been invited to crisis talks, which was requested by Greece, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande. In addition, the Presidents of the European institutions are present: the President of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker and President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi

In particular, feel the Belgians. left out. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel calls the ‘huddle’ among euro area countries as unacceptable: “I have no mandate to France and Germany to negotiate in my name.” His Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel would willingly have been in.

Not such a point

Prime Minister Mark Rutte said before the summit the “not so one point to find that he could not be there. However, he accuses the Greeks it ‘delaying’ work to find a solution. He pointed to the agreements that Greece and Europe made on February 20, when it was agreed to an extension of the support program. “The cue ball is now in Greece,” said Rutte. After February 20, however, little happened.

After the criticism of the two Benelux countries Tusk asked whether the need for a dialogue with all euro countries. Nobody, however, was reportedly in. Tusk has assured those present that there be no concrete decisions during the crisis meeting
