In the last five years, the number of passengers carried increased at Schiphol Airport to 55 million passengers in 2014. Compared to 2009, this amounts to an increase 26 percent, significantly more than other airports in Western Europe. Thus, the increase was 16 percent in Frankfurt and London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle 11 percent. Also last year, the number of passengers at Schiphol has grown the most. This development has partly to do with the lower cost off and landing for airlines at the airport, according to the CBS.
Moreover, Lelystad Airport, which is part of the Schiphol Group, expand, made Secretary Mansfield today known. Transfer traffic gets more space at Schiphol.
Eindhoven
The number of passengers increased from Eindhoven Airport travels over the last five years from 1.7 million to 4 million. This is partly due to a doubling of the number of destinations from this airport. There were mainly destinations in Italy, Poland and Spain.
Last year, the proportion of passengers from Eindhoven Airport 6.5 percent against 3.7 percent in 2009. That left Eindhoven national airports over the past five year to see the greatest growth
