Schiphol receives approval for expansion of Lelystad Airport – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

Schiphol gets final approval from the government to expand Lelystad Airport. That is next week officially announced, so the NOS reported Saturday.

The government and parliament were basically last summer chord . To view all the way to the putting green had to be gone through yet the necessary procedures. That has now happened, according to the NIS.

Tender phase

Early this month, this newspaper reported that Lelystad Airport had already begun the tender for expansion. It is the largest part of the € 90 million cost increase which the expanding Schiphol to relieve holiday travelers. The tender for the first phase of the expansion will be closed on February 16.

Conclusion of a contract

Phase 1 covers the design, construction and maintenance of the runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads and parking areas for audience. This phase is expected to cost € 58 million. For Phase 1 have been “some” parties reported. If next week’s final green light comes, Lelystad quickly turns to actual contract award.

To the passenger growth of Schiphol to accommodate the coming years, the expansion of Lelystad to be completed in 2018. Without the expansion threatens Schiphol faster to get to the ceiling of 500,000 flights than agreed with environmental organizations and local residents.

Ownership Schiphol

Lelystad Airport is owned by Schiphol, like the regional airport of Eindhoven. In Phase 2, the construction of a terminal and infrastructure for the handling of passengers and luggage to be tendered.
