Consumers in January, 1.8 percent more on goods and services than in January 2014. This is the largest increase in four years, reported the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) today.
Consumers spent more on electronic devices, home furnishings and automobiles. Households have burned more gas than in January 2014.
According to CBS gave consumers in January 4.6 percent more on durable goods, such as electronic appliances, home furnishings and automobiles. “Last January, they bought relatively few cars, which coincided with the expiration of tax benefits on cars by January 1, 2014.
The expenditures on other goods, including energy, were 3.7 percent higher. Consumers consume more gas than a year earlier. In January 2015 was colder than in January 2014. On food and beverage consumers spent 1.3 percent more than the year before.
