The Administration for the court in Arnhem lost a case against Dutch savings. Because the tax authorities will not release the name of the informant about the secret funds, the court has the savers vindicated and destroyed the tax assessments
.
The Tax is appealed to the Supreme Court, announced a spokesman of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. The Tax finds the verdict disappointing, especially since it now seems that the name of a tipster is more important than the fight against black money and tax evasion.
The case is about the heirs of a man who, according to the Tax in 1996 had stood over a million guilders in an account of a Luxembourg bank. The tax authorities had the information received via a tipster, but would not disclose his identity.
Judge wants to know who tipster was black savers
The appeal in Arnhem is only part of the battle between the tax and savings. Wednesday is the first (closed) session in the appeal which have filed two officials from the tax authorities in the Supreme Court. They wanted the name of a tipster despite the insistence of the court does not release and appealed hence the privilege.
This refusal also meant that the President of the Court of Arnhem-Leeuwarden in November declaration did against the Ministry of Finance. The ministry officials would have put under pressure to remain silent. In theory, the ministers at the Department may, Jeroen Dijsselbloem Minister and State Secretary Eric Wiebe, this will be prosecuted and thrown in jail
