Date: 20-02-2015 house prices have increased again slightly in January 2015. This is now the tenth month in a row talk of price increases on the housing market. This is evidenced by the latest figures by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has announced. House prices rose in January 2015 by 2.1% compared to the same month in 2014. Compared with December 2014, the increase was quite limited: the housing prices rose by only 0.5% . |
The average price of existing homes in January 2015 is thus about as high as the middle of 2003. In June 2013 the prices of homes have bottomed. Since then, house prices have risen steadily. Compared to the low point in June 2013, prices were 3.6% higher in January. But compared to August 2008, when house prices reached their absolute peak, the price level is still 18.6% lower.


Earlier, CBS already known that the number of homes sold also increased further. In January 2015 9 437 homes were sold. That is an increase of 6% compared to the 8905 homes sold in January 2014.
