Lower sales for Prada – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

Fashion house Prada has broken in the last financial year to January 2015 was 1% made less turnover. Analysts polled by Bloomberg had a turnover of € 3.57 billion expected, while there came € 3.55 billion. The results are in agreement with the estimates.

The luxury brand would have suffered from declining demand in the Chinese market. Articles Prada are particularly high priced and the Chinese consumer was the year less willing to count eg converted € 2,500 for a bag down. Other

luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Hermes would have their products more adapted to the needs of Chinese customers.

Prada warned in December all that the profitability of the company in 2015 will remain under pressure due to lower demand. The chain will open next year fewer stores than expected and bags with an offer price of around € 1,000 to provide the changing market conditions.
