The Public Prosecutor (OM) is satisfied that a new investigation into the lawyer who allegedly committed in writing in the port of Rotterdam scandal falsehood. The Supreme Court announced today that needs to be looked at again misinformation that lawyer gave Jacob Cornegoor the RDM group and financiers. The court in The Hague acquitted him in Apri 2013.
Cornegoor worked as legal counsel for businessman Joep van den Nieuwenhuijzen, former boss of the RDM businesses. Based on the false documents was the Port of Rotterdam, where Willem Scholten was then director, guarantee loans of tens of millions of euros to RDM. When it appeared that RDM could not repay the loans, the Port Authority was held accountable.
According to the Supreme Court has assumed too easily that the false information was not intentionally false.
