Walt Disney’s new fiscal year began excellent. The entertainment group saw revenue grow and booked almost a fifth more profit than a year earlier, it was announced Tuesday. Especially hit movie Frozen remains invaluable for the parent company of Mickey Mouse, the superheroes of Marvel and ESPN.
Disney booked in the first quarter of its fiscal year broken revenues of $ 13.4 billion (11.7 billion euros). That was 9 percent more than a year earlier. Net income increased 19 percent to $ 2.2 billion. The earnings exceeded analysts’ expectations thus amply.
The group saw revenue from the sale of toys and DVDs robust increase thanks to the enduring popularity of the film Frozen. Because those blockbuster cinemas disappeared, took the proceeds from ticket sales for Disney movies though. Disney went on more visitors to its amusement parks.
