Deal Dijsselbloem and Tsipras about Greece – Telegraaf.nl

BRUSSELS (Reuters) –

Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras made an appointment in Brussels on addressing the debt problems of Greece. That made a spokeswoman Dijsselbloem on Thursday

.

A team of experts from the lenders to Greece (the so-called troika) is the Late mapping exactly what the needs are of the Greeks and what the outstanding commitments in the current lending program. It is a purely technical development and comparison. It looks at what points overlap the two programs.

The list will form the basis on which the finance ministers of the euro countries Monday during their meeting in Brussels further to discuss and negotiate.

Eurogroup

This plan was also Wednesday evening on the table when there was an extra Eurogroup in Brussels organized. At the last moment could be no agreement is reached on a joint statement. Then there was the fear that there were immediate next steps or conditions attached to such a comparison. That fear is dispelled by only making a purely technical analysis.

The agreement reached between Dijsselbloem and Tsipras means at least rapprochement between the two parties. After the meeting Wednesday was dead end and there were no scheduled meetings.

Loans Program

The current loan program expires at the end of the month. Without a solution or new understandings Greece comes quickly into financial trouble. The new Greek government wants to get rid of it partly because Europe imposed stringent austerity policies and would not honor all agreements made.

Dijsselbloem and Tsipras spoke to each other Thursday on the sidelines of the summit of Heads of State. Dijsselbloem been asked to inform the leaders of the state of affairs in Greece. Negotiations will not take place during the summit; there was Union Minister Donald Tusk very clear. That is the work of the Eurogroup
