Carbon monoxide poisoning is a silent killer, campaign must victims … – Omroep West

THE HAGUE – People need to be more aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide, says the Dutch Burns Foundation. Therefore she starts Monday at 12:00 am, at the monthly test of the sirens, a campaign.

Carbon monoxide annually provides 11 deaths and an average of 150 hospitalizations. It is a silent killer because it is colorless and odorless and undetected free, so people dazed and then become unconscious. The cause of the release of carbon monoxide is often a broken heater, water heater or boiler.

In our region police Saturday had to force a door at the Linnaeus in The Hague because of carbon monoxide. Several people were unwell. In December last year, there were cases of carbon monoxide poisoning in flats at the Elvira Country in The Hague and a house on the Dintel in Naaldwijk.
