In Germany today for the first time entered a statutory minimum wage. The unions called to take into employers to the minimum amount of 8.50 euros per hour, even from the New Year’s night. From tomorrow are hotlines ‘evasion’ furnished by trade unions and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The issue of a statutory minimum wage in Germany was hotly contested for years. Employers warned of job losses.

The new German minimum wage amounts to 1473 euro gross per month for a full week. In the Netherlands since 1 January 1501.80 euros for employees of 23 years or older.

So far, there had been only thirteen branches in Germany, with around 4 million workers a minimum wage in the CLA was recorded. In the new German law included exceptions for companies that take long-term unemployed or young people without training in the service
