Supreme Court ruled that state lottery customers deceived – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

The Lottery deceived the Supreme Court until 2008, the participants in the game of chance. The consumer did not know at the time that the State Lottery prices pulled out a jar which also sat unsold auctions. The odds were so thought smaller than the consumer.

That other lotteries it also did so, as the State Lottery argues, does not change the deception, the Supreme Court ruled Friday to certify a judgment of the Court.

The case stems from a procedure Foundation Lottery Loss also speaking on behalf of 23,000 people proceedings filed against the state lottery. According to this foundation would be buyers of lottery in the period

2000-2008 have been misled at the guaranteed price, the height of the odds and the large number of prizes per draw

Lottery Loss believes that they now ‘an excellent starting point” has to recover the entry fee.

The Supreme Court, however, on Friday rejected the complaints of Lottery Loss. The highest Dutch judicial body the Court ruled earlier right that the lottery not every month the statutory 60% of the deposit have to be paid out. It suffices if this percentage is achieved in a year.
