The court in Den Bosch today shoe store Schoenenreus declared bankrupt. Tuesday the chain was still deferred payment, but the shops are closed since.
Executive Director Bas van Dooren saw no more perspective and filed for bankruptcy today.
It is the second
time that the company is bankrupt, the first time was in January 2013. The chain suffer from declining sales caused by the crisis and competition from online stores. When the company made a new start on the same day with fewer stores, a new formula and with approximately 1,000 of its 1,500 employees.

The Schoenenreus founded in 1969 has over 140 branches in the Netherlands and Belgium. For bankruptcy in 2013 there were more than two hundred.
