The US credit card company American Express disappear this year more than 4,000 jobs. That the company announced Wednesday at the presentation of the quarterly figures, reports Bloomberg.
The layoffs are part of a major reorganization. The costs are mainly paid from the sale of its stake in the American technology company Concur Technologies. This resulted in September last year at $ 700 million.
Over the last quarter of last year, the group achieved
11% more profit. It benefited from higher spending by its customers while stricter minding his own expenses. 

Net profit in the quarter $ 1.4 billion against $ 1.3 billion in 2013. Sales increased by 7% to $ 9.1 billion.
American Express also announced that a provision of $ 313 million made to increase efficiency in the company.
