“Tax authorities should release name tipster black savers’ – nrc.nl

The tax authorities must reveal the name of the anonymous tipster who betrayed hundreds savings. According to a yet unpublished opinion from the Advocate General of the Supreme Council, which is owned by The Telegraph. Their advice is almost always followed.

From the list of the tipster was the treasury in recent years sent more than three hundred black savers penalty assessments and programs worth hundreds of million of euros. This money was parked in accounts in Luxembourg. In negotiations, the tipster anonymity was promised and received several tons of tipgeld. From a reconstruction of NRC found that officials of the tax authorities who negotiated in 2009 with a tipster about their savings were not interested in the origin of the money. The possible criminal history of the informant played no role.

They did not know how the man came to Dutch records about their savings and foreign bank accounts. This was told during witness interviews of four officials of the tax authorities who were formerly involved in negotiations on the files.

Lawsuit against the Ministry of Finance

In an interim judgment in 2011 the court ruled in Arnhem that the tax authorities had to provide the identity of the tipster . Which refused the tax, after which the file ended up at the Court of Appeal. Through a highly unusual indictment, the Court did late last year filed a complaint against the Ministry of Finance because the two officials who were heard in this case on the instructions of the Ministry remained silent.

Because of the continued silence of the officials said the Court of Appeal in Arnhem early February this year that all attacks must be destroyed which had imposed the Ministry of Finance to an alleged black saver with bank accounts in Luxembourg.
