Record profit for Ryanair – discounter wants 100 million passengers – nrc.nl

Ryanair has made in the past year 66 percent more profit. The gain was a result of 867 million euros, which meant another record for the Irish airline.

The thirty-cost airline performed better than analysts had anticipated before, the company said himself at today published figures the year ran until late March.

The number of customers rose from 81.7 last year to 90.6 million this year, an increase of 11 percent. Previously had targeted an increase of four percent. That route plans much earlier are known, according to the airline contributed to higher growth. In the current financial year the company hopes to break the limit of one hundred million passengers.

The growth in passenger numbers and a slightly higher revenue per passenger caused a twelve percent increase in revenue of 5.6 billion euros. The margin increased partly because the company claims to have become more customer-friendly.

The profit was higher fall out if Ryanair had no long-term contracts concluded for kerosene. Through these contracts the company benefited from the drop in oil prices does not. For next year, the company claims to have cheaper contracts stipulated. Ryanair expects next year to make an even higher profit of between 940 and 970 million euro
