Spanish Minister De Guindos wants to be president Eurogroup – NU.nl

That left he sat out during a meeting of the Eurogroup in the Latvian capital Riga, reports Reuters .

The Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in March all that De Guindos the baton of Dijsselbloem should take over. In July, the first installment of the Dutch Minister of Finance expires but Dijsselbloem would like to stay for a second term.

The Guindos, however, the support include German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Other countries have already expressed their support.

The Presidency of the Eurogroup changes every 2.5 years. The Eurogroup is an agreement

between eurozone’s finance ministers

They are currently considering the economic situation in Greece that reform measures must accept in order to qualify for additional financial assistance of the European Union.
