Officer seriously injured in arrest sought Belgian in Ede – nrc.nl

In an arrest of a wanted suspect last night in the Belgian province of Gelderland Ede is a cop seriously injured. The policeman was stabbed several times with a knife. His condition is currently stable. The suspect was in Belgium sought for aggravated assault.

A few days ago had the Belgian, which the police do not have any additional information released, assaulted a woman. Before that he was wanted by the Belgian police. A previous arrest in Belgium failed after the man fled to the Netherlands. Belgian justice then contacted the Netherlands.

Last night the suspect was spotted in Hotel De Paasberg to Arnhemseweg in Ede.
