The Dutch airline intends to deploy tap provisional random intercontinental flights, including to Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics, reports Het Parool Saturday.

” we know our passengers draft beer is considered by beer drinkers exceed canned beer, “says Miriam Kartman, vice president Inflight Services at KLM.

It was claimed Heineken a major effort to develop a draft beer flights because the pressure is much lower in an airplane than at sea level.

“It was a big puzzle,” says Heineken’s designer. “We had to make a whole tap system in the smallest trolley they had, with the tap beer, cooling and compressor for the air pressure. But no matter how we tried, we always kept one part about it.”

“you can not do without tap, you can without beer and tapping is necessary pressure so a compressor. We have to leave behind the refrigerator with a heavy heart.”

That means, according Heineken is not that passengers get warm beer. The barrels are kept supplied at Schiphol. “The taptrolley is actually a large thermos. The beer is well below five degrees Celsius. In a test we were after seven o’clock yet at 3.5 degrees.”

KLM can not guarantee that in future draft beer is offered on each flight. “We love the time being at special events.”
