Fewer counterfeit euro banknotes seized in Netherlands – NU.nl

It was in the first six months of 2016, 26,000 counterfeit notes, reports De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) on Friday.

There were at that time 30 percent fewer false notes detected than a year earlier. Compared with the second half of last year this was a decrease of 13 percent.

“This decline is to give an exact explanation. But bear alert shopkeepers and the attention of the police and judicial authorities in the combating this type of crime, “said DNB.

Worldwide, the number of counterfeit notes also declined. It was about 331,000 tickets, a decrease of 27 percent compared to the first six months of 2015.

The notes of 20 and 50 euro denominations that are distorted the most.
