First tropical day of the year: BBQ again! – NH News

AMSTERDAM The first nationwide tropical day of the year is a fact. Shortly after noon, the mercury rose in De Bilt above 30 degrees, according to the KNMI. Time for barbecuing!

In many places in England is today warmer than 30 degrees, except for the islands. In the south and east of the Netherlands can be even 35 degrees. In North Brabant, Limburg, Overijssel and Gelderland is a heat warning issued.

For all provinces except North Holland, South Holland and Zeeland is also a code yellow effect because in the course of the afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected. The rain probably start in the south and draw in a northeasterly direction across the country.


 

North Holland
Even in England it can locally storms at the end of the evening and rain according NH weatherman Jan Visser. The heat thereby decreases at the end of the afternoon. The rain fade later in the evening again.


 

In the coming days the temperature remains pleasant, with around 20 to 26 degrees. Friday there’s a chance of rain showers.
