SBM Offshore will pay a total of 162.8 million dollars (147.5 million euros) to the investigation of his role in ending the bribery scandal surrounding the Brazilian state oil company. Of that amount, more than 149 million dollars to Petrobras, with whom the Schiedam company again can do normal things.

The Brazilian oil company would have received for years bribes from businesses, which include SBM in exchange for contracts . SBM took already a provision of 245 million dollars for this issue.

Rating

With the settlement SBM sees also on 95 percent of performance bonuses to two production and storage vessels (FPSO) can be achieved in the period up to 2030 in Brazil. That provision currently represents a value of 112 million dollars.

SBM exceeded in 2014 already a settlement worth $ 240 million with the Public Prosecutor in the Netherlands. That penalty was related to illegal donations by the company’s agents to officials in Brazil, Equatorial Guinea and Angola.
