Growth in China’s economy stabilized in the second quarter – NU.nl

According to a first estimate published by the Chinese statistics office on Friday.

The growth in the first half of 2016 is in line with the objective of an increase of 6.5 to 7 percent, which the Chinese government has set for the year.

Last year, growth slowed from the world’s second largest economy down to 6.9 percent. That was the lowest level in years.



Construction and Industry

Die cooling and periods of great turbulence in the Chinese equity markets fueled recent months, fears of a hard landing for the Chinese economy.

the Chinese government is trying to make the economy less dependent on construction and industry. Domestic demand should thereby be the economic engine.

The Chinese statistics bureau also reported Friday that the Chinese industry in June more than 6 percent and has produced over the previous year. This growth was almost as strong as in May.

The retail sales increased by almost 11 percent and thus increased slightly faster than in the previous month.
