Coalition Agreement VVD and PvdA on tax reform – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

The government parties VVD and PvdA have reached an outline agreement on a revision of the tax system. That Secretary of State Eric Wiebes of Finance said Wednesday.

According to Wiebe is in the coalition agreement in principle but still need some technical issues are worked out. The VVD minister said that the agreement between the VVD and PvdA has not been boarded up. He wants before the summer break with the opposition to the table.

Impressed

Where the agreement in the coalition exactly covers and how far the reform of the tax system, is unclear. The government and ruling parties want nothing to say about the content of what they have been agreed. Wiebe said only to be impressed by what has been achieved so far. “If we continue this line, we have something in store for the taxpayer,” the Secretary of State.

The basic principles of the previous year announced that the tax system should be simplified and that the burden on labor must be reduced. The simplification is obvious that the income payments will be overhauled. The need is widely endorsed this. For example, the health care benefits would go directly to the health insurance companies can go instead of this allowance to be granted to households, which therefore must then pay their health insurance premium. The idea that municipalities may begin to charge more taxes, has broad political support after the major decentralizations.

Reliefs

Lower taxes on labor are partly easily accomplished because the government next year about € 5 billion space On the budget for tax cuts. The main question is to what extent are further reduced taxes on labor and elsewhere where the government wants to bring in the tax rates, lower revenues from the wage and income

The government wants for the summer consult with the opposition about his tax proposals. The coalition needs the opposition because it has no majority in the Senate. As a stand with a majority in both Houses agree on the outlines of a broader review of the tax system, the first step for such a review can be put in 2016. Those measures are then in the Tax Plan for next year.
