More clarity for people in debt – Eindhoven Dagblad

People with creditors on their roof clarify the so-called seizure-free rate. That is the part of income which no creditor can come to, because it is necessary to live.

The seizure-free rate is often set too low so that anyone with big debts enough left over to get by in everyday life. This is mainly because the system determines that the seizure-free amount is too complex. With all kinds of data (healthcare costs, rental costs, fees) must be taken into account and that is often wrong.

Secretary of State Jetta Klijnsma (Social Affairs) is now easier. The calculation of all the different factors is replaced by a fixed amount, based only on the living conditions of the person in debt. That is important not only for the debtor, but also for the creditor then no need to have exaggerated expectations about the aflosmogelijkheden of the debtor.
