Travel organizations get little cancellations for holidays in Greece. The ANVR expects tens of thousands of Dutch to Greece in the coming weeks go on vacation, despite the uncertain financial situation in the country.

Tour operators like TUI, Sunweb and Corendon offer all-inclusive vacations to which tourists pay their hotel and meals in advance. TUI gets “a few dozen” requests for rebooking, let us know at NRC, but does not give full booking numbers. Only when there is a travel warning, the trip can be canceled free of charge.

Also at Corendon the number of rebooking or cancellations limits, says the airline:

“Today leave full five aircraft to the Greek islands.”

Corendon has arranged for if no money comes from the Greek ATMs. Travelers can in that case on the website of Corendon with buy creditcard money, which is then paid out in cash by the travel agent in Greece.

Tourists to Greece do well to cash for the whole holiday to take advise the Foreign Ministry and travel industry association ANVR since this morning. They should take into account a situation where no more money can be made from ATMs, and can not be paid with credit cards.

The uncertain financial situation in Greece is no reason for a negative travel advice. ANVR director Frank Oostdam against the ANP:

“We firmly believe that everything will proceed well in Greece.”

Both the Ministry and the ANVR see no reason to cancel the vacation to Greece. Foreign Affairs advises to take out adequate insurance for “unexpected costs and developments.” And:

“Prepare your stay in Greece extra care and be alert to changes in the situation.”

Tourists can inform themselves during their vacation on the latest developments on TwitterBZReisadvies or via the app BZ advice. The Ministry warns of demonstrations that could lead to violence in the center of Athens.
