The Greeks claim not empty-handed to the Eurogroup come Monday. According to an aide to Alexis Tsipras, State Minister Alekos Flabouraris, the Greek government comes up with additional proposals to the additional meeting
Flabouraris said in front of the Greek channel Mega:.
“We will expand our proposal so that we come closer to a solution. We do not come with the old proposal. We look at where we can come together, so that there can be a mutually beneficial solution “
Last Thursday the parties not manage to reach a compromise. Because the clock is ticking for the Greeks – the end of this month should be enough money available to pay the bills at the IMF – was therefore inserted an extra Eurogroup
The summit Thursday was particularly rapidly degraded.. The reason was that the Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis, no new proposals appeared to have taken to Luxembourg. He came up with plans – including for an automatic brake on Greek government spending and reducing the national debt – but that passed in which the euro countries will discuss: pension reductions and increases in VAT rates
Eurogroep-. Chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem said afterwards that it is waiting for “credible proposals” and that Greece “a few days” has to avoid worse. According to Minister of State Flabouraris, which is responsible for the “coordination of government policy” but itself has no ministry, Tsipras call today with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
