The Dutch Railways have with the knowledge of the top of the company repeatedly confidential information shared with rival Veolia subsidiary Abellio. This enables the Authority for Consumers & amp; Markets (ACM) in the scathing report published Wednesday on the state of affairs in the procurement of public transport in Limburg. In it, the ACM Presents inter alia that the NS Spoorwet violated by providing insufficient information to rival Veolia.
Across ACM had NS stated that it was only once the error gone by sharing competitively sensitive information with Veolia, Arriva and other potential bidders with subsidiary Abellio. According to the watchdog, however, has repeatedly NS information shared with Abellio. The top of the rail company was aware of this.
“ACM emphasizes that this is not an act, moreover, of an individual railway employee or otherwise constitutes an isolated incident. The administrative head of both Abellio Netherlands as NS appeared aware of the competitive information from Arriva and Veolia, despite that at the hearing by the representatives of NS explicitly denied several times, “says the ACM.
Steps
Both the SP and D66 found that the NS summit must go. “The report shows that the NS ACM Summit knew of the fraud. NS drivers who defraud knowingly can not remain, “said D66 parliamentarian Stientje of Veldhoven. “This must have consequences,” said Socialist Party MP Farshad Bashir. “The responsible person at the top of NS should resign.”
