“Rents Amsterdam and a half times higher than elsewhere in the Netherlands’ – NU.nl

This was reported Friday Pararius home platform based on proprietary supply.

The price in Amsterdam, according Pararius never been so high. A tenant in the free sector in the municipality pays an average 2,120 euros a month.

Amsterdam has a tenant average 20.68 euros per square meter per month down to a free sector housing. That is more than one and a half times more expensive than the national average of 12.71 euros per square meter.

In regional terms, the rental prices in North Holland at 17.50 euros per square meter also the highest.

Under pressure

Managing director Jasper de Groot Pararius states that the rental offer in the private sector is under pressure.

“The last two years were hired continuously more homes than there were for sale put,” says De Groot. “This disruption in supply and demand ensures a driving effect on the price that particularly in the larger cities is obvious.”

The fact that fewer rental housing offered in the private sector also has to do with the improving housing market. Homeowners are due to the improved situation more inclined to sell their homes instead of renting
