What is on the agenda for Greece? – The Standard

After the clear ‘no’ in the referendum, Greece faces some important days. A brief overview of what there is today and the coming days to happen.

Tsipras consults internally

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras today to consult with the leaders of six other political parties. Those are the day after the referendum, at the request of Tsipras invited to the palace of President Prokopis Pavlopoulos.

According to reports Tsipras would like to ask the other parties of its strategy for further negotiations to date with institutional creditors of Greece and want to ensure their support.

ECB decides on emergency loans

The Greek banks are already week and have closed capital but about until today, but further decisions are dependent on higher authorities. It is the European Central Bank, which decides how much emergency aid the Greek national bank may by dumping its financial institutions.

On Sunday the Greeks to the ECB requested additional emergency funds, but most likely the ECB will opt for a status quo and the decisions of the Eurogroup Tuesday to wait.

Europ Group expects new proposals

Eurogroup meeting of European finance ministers, come Tuesday at 13 o’clock together. By then expect new proposals from the Greek government. Monday, the ministers laid a joint statement in which they clearly that they expect soon new proposals from Athens.

In their statement, the finance ministers once again emphasize that it was the Greek representatives themselves who “unilateral” negotiations stop with the EU and the international monetary institutions.

Second ‘special’ Eurotop

After the meeting of the eurogroup, following Tuesday in Brussels for 18 hours, the euro summit. As the leaders of the nineteen euro countries in Brussels will discuss the outcome of the Greek referendum. It is the second special European summit on Greece in a short time.

The initiative comes from the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande. The two called Sunday night together after the results of the referendum.

To prepare the euro summit, President Donald Tusk held today in a conference call with President Jean-Claude Juncker, ECB president Mario Draghi, Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Klaus Regling, the head of the rescue fund ESM.
