The European Union must prohibit the export of Dutch cut flowers to Russia, says the Russian Food and Drugs Authority. If not, then Russia itself calls for a boycott of Dutch flowers. The Russian news agency Tass reported Monday that the imports from the Netherlands has been put temporarily stop.

Random tests, according to the Russians revealed that animals sit among the flowers . In 58% of the cases would be detected dangerous organisms. Russia threatened last week even with an import ban. Bloomberg reported then that making the threats have with Dutch efforts
Political action
Agriculture and horticulture organization LTO Netherlands says it is highly unlikely that pests sits among flowers . LTO think it is a political act. The Ministry of Economic Affairs said in a response to the new threat that it is not informed. The export of flowers to Russia has dropped sharply in recent months. Last year, Russia was still the fourth market for the Netherlands, now the country is in eighth place.
