This confirms a KPN spokesman opposite NU.nl after a report by Bloomberg.
Samsung would be smartphones, including the Galaxy S4 and S5, use of technology for data on which we patent.
The two companies have negotiated the last two years on a licensing agreement, but without result.
KPN has brought the case to a federal court in Marshall, in the US state of Texas. The Dutch phone company wants compensation from Samsung, and a ban
on further use of the patented technology. 
The spokesman of KPN will not go into the matter. Thus, it remains unclear why the lawsuit is fought in the United States, where the negotiations have faltered and what the case means for the relationship between Samsung and KPN
