Cargill gets out takeover battle Nutreco – Parool.nl

The US food manufacturer Cargill gets out of the takeover battle for the Dutch Nutreco, which way for SHV to take over the company. According to a statement that Cargill has brought out.

Cargill gave all to have considered the relevant facts and come to the decision to no longer pursue an acquisition of Nutreco. SHV has made an offer of 44.50 euros per share for the feed and now owns more than 15 percent of the company. European and Turkish

authorities have approved the acquisition.

Originally the trading conglomerate had offered 40 euros per share, but that bid was increased after the interests of Cargill and investor Permira. Who would with a preliminary bid to come up from 43.20 euros per share, but that proposal was rejected by Nutreco.

Independent bid
The Association of (VEB) recently said that Nutreco had to go talk to Cargill. Which is now working on an independent bid for Nutreco without Permira, but now seeing from those plans.

A spokesman for Nutreco announced to have taken note of the decision of Cargill, but wanted to continue to comment on the case.
