Migrant benefit of higher retirement age NOS

The AOW gap of migrants in the last few years something has become smaller. The Central Bureau of Statistics reports that people with a migrant background, in 2015 the AOW-entitlement of, on average, 77 percent, 2 percent more than ten years.

Migrants have no automatic entitlement to a full AOW pension when they are 67. For each year that they live in the Netherlands, they build up a claim of 2 percent. To be entitled to a full AOW pension, an immigrant of 50 years live in the Netherlands.

The CBS says that especially the increase of the retirement age beneficial extract for migrants. In the past they built in between their 15th and 65th year of life, between their 17th and 67th. People who at a later age come to the Netherlands, so have extra time for claims to build.

However, there are relatively large differences between the different migrant groups, according to the CBS figures. So are Dutch people with a Surinam background, an average PENSION entitlement of 91 percent, while migrants from, for example, African countries or the Middle East, on average, 65 percent sit. Turkish and Moroccan Dutch AOW pension claims of 88 percent built.
