The Dutch state is selling again a part of the shares of ASR. The insurer was part of Fortis, which in 2008 together with ABN Amro was nationalized.
Minister Dijsselbloem wrote in a letter to the Second Chamber that there is a maximum of 20.4 million shares will be sold. The share of ASR currently stands at almost 23 euros. That would amount to 470 million euros.
The exact number to sell shares will be defined at a later time, just as the price at which they are sold. Probably, the shares on 17 January. ASR has announced itself, three million of its own shares to buy.
In June made the state the first shares ASR of the hand after the nationalization. The state after the second sale has an interest of 50.1 per cent in the insurer.
