Philips sees revenue and profits grow – NU.nl

Philips, including the last year privatized lichtdivisie still with falling sales is struggling, reported Tuesday a quarterly turnover of 7.2 billion euros. That means a growth of 3 percent. In the last three months of 2015 suffering the company is still loss.

The net profit amounted to 640 million euros, against a loss of 39 million euros a year earlier. That shortage was partly caused by one-off costs that Philips made to business to buy.

Annual results

On the whole year came to the company from a turnover of 24.5 billion euros. The net profit increased from 659 million euros in 2015 to 1.49 billion euros in 2016.

Philips is particularly pleased about the growth in the gezondheidstechnologische branch, the core business of the company. Ceo Frans van Houten: “The growth in the branch, demonstrates that our strategic choice for gezonheidstechnologie has had any effect.”
