The relevant trade union, Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), has promised any strikes at least 24 hours in advance to announce. The bond had Sunday at noon still no new strike in the prospect. Bettina Volkens of the leadership of Lufthansa urged Sunday in the newspaper Bild that pilots back to the table and that together they create a compromise.
The pilots of Lufthansa had Friday night a new collective offer of Lufthansa rejected. The company offered a slightly stronger wage increase, in exchange for certain concessions around pensions for example. The offer was soon rejected by the pilotenvakbond VC. According to the bond offers, the proposal is nothing new.
Lufthansa and the pilots tried for years to good arbeidsafspraken to come. The work stoppages and other actions as a result of the labor conflict Lufthansa in 2014 and 2015, a total of 450 million cost, according to the Institute for the German Economy in Cologne. The pilots went on strike in their latest action from Wednesday to Sunday. This went over 2700 flights, and were estimated to be 350,000 passengers harmed.
