Homeowners pay next year, on average, 1.3% more in property tax (OZB). Municipalities continue to be here for the first time in five years, on average, under the maximum of 1,97%.

this is evident from the annual sample of the Association of Home owners under 109 of 390 municipalities. In thirty-two municipalities increases the load on the own house with more than 2%. In 29 of the surveyed municipalities decreases the property tax.

Like every year, there are outliers. How to pay a homeowner in Nijmegen, in 2017 an average of € 510 on CL. That is four times as much as in The Hague, where the homeowner, on average, $ 127 pay. The biggest riser is the Groningen municipality of Haren. The average cl-attack going in there with 12% up from € 378 to € 423. Biggest descenders are the municipalities of Rijswijk and Mierlo (-7%).

research among members of the Association of Home owners shows that homeowners in the current taxation reasonable, but that they are dissatisfied if the property tax is used to make holes in the municipal budget gap. Municipalities should according to the respondents, better justify that the money raised is spent. And tenants would have to contribute financially to the cost of municipal services from which everyone benefits.

'The increase of the property tax as the value of homes drops, as in the last great depression occurred repeatedly, points out people are massively down, ” says Rob Mulder, director of Knowledge & Advocacy. “Therefore, argues the Association of Home owners of the next government for a better, more balanced system of burden-sharing.'
