Tennet is building a power cable between the Netherlands and Denmark – NOS

There are already four connections by land with Germany and two across country with Belgium. Furthermore, the Netherlands are through cables under the sea bed connected with Great Britain and Norway. There is now a connection with Denmark.

Also, indirectly, there are connections. Tennet is in the North of Germany is busy with the construction of a second connection with Norway. In addition, it is thought about a second connection with Great Britain.

According to ceo Mel Kroon, Tennet is expanding the connections between European countries are essential for the future: “The connections with foreign countries to facilitate the introduction of green energy”.

Governments have committed to in the coming years, high rate, switch to clean sources of energy like sun and wind. This clean energy will soon be cheaper and make coal – fired gas plants in the long run unnecessary. But in contrast to gas – and coal-fired power plants to let the sun and wind, not by human control.
