Suspect case released dead cop Bonaire – NU.nl

According to the Prosecution and the Police Corps Caribbean Netherlands (KPCN) there is sufficient reason to keep the man in custody. The man was the user of a white van that is brought in connection with the case. The van was seized and examined.

Meanwhile arrived in Bonaire fifteen Dutch investigators. Employees of the Dutch Forensic Institute and police officers from the islands of Aruba and Curacao are working on the case.

The 45-year-old policeman, who works at the KPCN since 2013, was shot during a shooting in Bonaire on August 18th. It is now clear that the

fatal bullets did not come from a police weapon.

The police had been sent with a colleague for a property on the west side of the island, where a robbery was committed. When the officers arrived, it came to a chase and then a shootout. The victim was injured taken to hospital but could not be saved
