The unemployment rate in this age group fell from 7.3 percent in the second quarter of 2014 to 5 percent in the last quarter, the Central Bureau reports for Statistics (CBS) on Wednesday.
Still, it is unemployment in this age of all 25- to 45-year-olds still the highest.
“the 25- to 30-year-olds of today started in the labor market at a time of economic downturn that began in late 2008″ proposes CBS. The unemployment rate has risen sharply from 2.6 percent in 2008 to a peak of 7.7 percent in 2013.
After that, the unemployment rate will fall to 25 to 30 year olds. There has been three years in a row declined. The difference arising from the crisis compared to older age groups has largely disappeared in the second quarter of 2016.
Flex workers
“The labor market position of 25- to 30-year-olds compared to the older age now seems back to that before the crisis,” the statistics agency writes. Yet there is a difference in the area of flexible employment.
From 2008 to 2012, the proportion ranged 25 – to 30-year-old employees with a flexible employment of nearly 22 percent to over 24 percent. For all 25- to 45-year-olds, this also remained stable during the same period.
Then, the differences were bigger. The share of flexible contracts for employees to thirty years rose to 31 percent in the second quarter of 2016. For the group to 35 years this share also increased significantly. It was an increase of 13 to over 18 percent
