Heineken looks at acquisition Belgian specialty beer brewery ‘- NU.nl

This writes the Belgian business newspaper Time from multiple sources. Heineken would take charge to expand the range of specialty beers for the international market.

The brewer was Tuesday morning unavailable for comment.

In many markets, specialty beers emerging and see traditional large breweries their market share under pressure.

The Belgian brewer Duvel Moortgat, known for La Chouffe, De Koninck and Vedett would preying on the rival.

Duvel Moortgat has been very active in the acquisition

market. For example, the group took last year on the small Amsterdam Brouwer Brouwerij ‘t IJ. The company has already acquired about nine breweries, which are left relatively free.
