Seven out of ten Dutch shop online – NU.nl

In just four European countries make more people use online stores than in the Netherlands, the Central Bureau reports for Statistics (CBS) on Tuesday. The UK leads the way.

Last year there were more than 32,000 online stores in the Netherlands. Most Dutch people buy only from websites that are established in their own country, while a third sometimes buy across borders articles.

The European Commission wants to make it easier for online shopping in other EU countries, including more by addressing the rates for parcel delivery.

Consumer electronics are increasingly being purchased online, the figures from Statistics Netherlands. In the first quarter of 2016 increased online sales by 34 percent, while in physical stores was just 11 percent down
