Over a quarter more homes sold in May – NU.nl

Compared to April, there have been a slight decrease of 2 percent, according to figures published Friday by the Land Registry.

A total of 16,066 homes traded last month from owner. That’s 25.3 percent more than in May 2015. In April, the Land Registry registered 16 387 homes sold. That represents an increase of 28.5 percent year on year.

Of all the types of homes sales were higher than a year earlier. In apartments that increase was highest (31 percent) at two-under-one-detached houses smallest (16 percent). Of the provinces of Groningen had the strongest growth (36.5 percent), the weakest Zealand (6.3 percent).

The number of registered mortgages rose in May by 24.2 percent year on year to 22 706 . But compared to April was also a case of a decrease by 4.7 percent. There were 169 in May foreclosure auctions place, against 118 a year earlier
