Dutch pilots EasyJet put work down again – NU.nl

On Friday, June 24th will be the pilots who do not work all day stationed at Schiphol. The VNV estimates that on that day is fifteen to twenty flights.

“As talks between the VNV and EasyJet to date have not led to concrete progress, we are now forced to announce an extended strike “the union reported.

The pilots like sick pay, more rest between flights and pension schemes. They currently only personal contracts, but would like a collective labor agreement (CAO).

Last Friday there was still informal consultations between the company and the union. The management had until last night the time to come up with a formal response. “But we have not heard from EasyJet,” said strike coordinator Eme Tillema of the CNS.

Disappointed

“We are disappointed by this unnecessary action, as we together with VNV all significant progress to come to a collective agreement, “EasyJet sets Tuesday in a comment.

According to the company, the last collective bargaining agreement proposal” a significant improvement. ” EasyJet state in their own words open to a solution that is “reasonable and acceptable to both parties.”

“It is our belief that actions like this do not contribute to a constructive dialogue. A solution can not be achieved by a public debate and we regret the misleading and often factually incorrect statements which distributes the VNV towards the media and our pilots. “

Passengers

the company assumes that the flights can go. “We want to assure our passengers that we do everything within our possibilities to limit the inconvenience to them.”

The Airline advises passengers on the flight to keep an eye on. If flights might be canceled, they can rebook or get their money back.

Action

Last Tuesday claimed the pilots even though action. They then worked out between 6:00 and 14:00. “We v erwachten that the same number of people

going to do it like last time,” said Tillema. On that day 28 pilots have actually stopped work. In that group were also pilots who were idle or were scheduled backup services.

A total of 72 at Schiphol Dutch airmen stationed at easyJet. Sixty of them are members of the union. “But not everyone has to fly Friday course emphasizes Tillema.

Strike Breakers

The union argues that EasyJet that earlier strike tried to break through into invaders. Even now, the management would of announced airline strike breakers to fly in from abroad.

“EasyJet will now undoubtedly be again trying to adjust the schedules and there so again to set up mainly British planes. They did the last time, “says Tillema.

He had the VNV the strike” very much “like to announce later on, so the company is less likely to find replacements in time.” However, EasyJet writes in various letters to us that they find quite a period of 48 hours. “

If the union announces strike shorter advance, the CNS can possibly expect a million claim.” that’s a risk we want this currently not take yet. “

” We are within our rights to do everything possible to minimize the inconvenience to our passengers, “EasyJet sets Tuesday in a press statement.

Short proceedings

the union argues that breaking a strike is illegal and this will leave keys in a lawsuit. this interim relief service Friday in Haarlem.

“it is regrettable that the conflict must continue so long, but we will remain committed to a fair collective agreement for EasyJet pilots, “said VNV president Steven Verhagen
