Some Dutch companies will make a significant contribution to the construction of an undersea tunnel between Germany and Denmark. Both BAM, Boskalis and Van Oord has been selected for the project and the Fehmarn Belt.
This is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. The tunnel will have a length of 18 kilometers so that the travel time between Hamburg and Copenhagen will be shortened by two hours to three hours.
The tunnel consists of a four-lane highway and two rail lines. In total, the project 45 billion Danish kroner (€ 6 bn) involved. This was announced by the parties involved.
It is not known how many have given the other consortia. In the Netherlands, builders have huge losses in recent years ago on infrastructure projects because they are too narrow subscribers.

Consortium
BAM is part of the consortium Femern Link Contractors (FLC), which is responsible for the construction of the tunnel and the abutments. This is the biggest part of the project which involved an amount of around € 3 billion. BAM has a 25% stake in the consortium that further include the French Vinci and the Danish company Per Aarsleff exists.
Boskalis and Van Oord have been part of another consortium dredging and reclamation is carried out. The German Hochtief and Züblin are involved in this work. Van Oord states that its share of the project accounts for € 300 »million. Boskalis also announced that its part of the contract such magnitude.
The Danish client reports that the final signatures have not yet been put . This happens at the latest in May. The final passage is also subject to the approval of the German operations. This happens expected no earlier than in 2017.
Dredging
Boskalis and Van Oord get the job at the bottom of the sea a slot of sixteen kilometers to dig long. They also build a port where the consortium of BAM has built a factory for the production of concrete tunnel elements.
This is a called immersed tunnel built much in the Netherlands. This includes among others the Second Coen Tunnel. Unlike a bored tunnel are concrete basins sunk which are then connected to each other
