Good year for General Motors Telegraaf.nl

    The turnover increased by more than 9 percent to 166,4 billion dollars, while net profit was down almost 3 percent, climbed to 9.4 billion dollars. GM sold last year, over 10 million vehicles, an increase of 1,2 percent in comparison with 2015. On the American domestic market benefited GM of a good question to pick-uptrucks. Furthermore, in China the sales lot and saw the European dochtermerk Opel are sales grow.

    Ceo Mary Barra stated in a note that 2016 was an excellent year for GM and said there to have confidence in that the results further can be improved. The company came up previously with optimistic expectations for 2017.

    Brexit

    GM had to make a tap to collect the brexit. As a result of the sharp decline in value of the British pound was a loss in Europe. Without the impact of brexit would be GM in 2016 even have turned up with its European operations, including the British dochtermerk Vauxhall.

    The autoconcern is under pressure from president Donald Trump to produce more in their own country, and thus additional employment. In January, it was announced that GM a billion dollars extra is investing in its factories in the USA. That will deliver 1500 new jobs.
