In 2015 came to 5.8 percent of the energy consumed from renewable sources show Thursday, data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). A year earlier the share was 5.5 percent. And the rate was 4.8 percent in 2013.
In total last year was 118 petajoules use of renewable energy. That’s over 7 percent more than in 2014.
In particular, more geothermal last year, wind, solar and geothermal energy consumed. The consumption of biomass is only increased very slightly (2 percent). This overall increase in energy consumption reduced from renewable sources.
The energy from sun, wind and earth has increased by an average of 21 percent during the same period.
The total energy consumption, which also the consumption is counted from fossil sources, grew by nearly 2 percent last year. This, too, the growth of the share of renewable energy is lower.
Heat
Energy from renewable sources is used for heat, electricity and transport. About half of the last year from renewable sources of energy consumed was for warmth. In addition, 40 percent for electricity and 10 percent used for transport.
Renewable energy from biomass is more used last year for the production of heat. This has increased by 7 percent. Growth was seen especially in heat boilers companies and waste incineration plants.
Biomass remains by far the largest source of renewable energy. Nearly 70 percent of the renewable energy consumed comes from biomass
